Atlanta Wedding & Event DJ – Rylan from DJ Cuttlefish

Rylan’s relationship with music developed naturally from his general curiosity as a child, but if there was one identifying moment that pushed him towards the art? When he was in elementary school and heard Baby Got Back by Sir Mix O Lot and boogied his heart out.

His budding musical career has flourished since that first introduction to Sir Mix A Lot. He joined his school band in 6th grade and played bassoon through middle school and high school until he made the transition to percussion in his high school marching band.

Over the years since then, he has honed his bass guitar skills and found a home with the DJ Cuttlefish team where he DJs weddings and special events.

Rylan’s favorite part of DJing events is being able to create an environment where people can truly be happy and live within the moment. Seeing people sing and dance with each other warms his heart and makes him grateful to be able to cultivate that experience.

Well rounded and adaptable, Rylan’s goal is to cater to any and every need. His flexibility allows him to create a lasting connection with any crowd or individual.

When preparing for an event, Rylan tries to visualize what the event will be like so he can prepare himself for all possible outcomes. He starts his morning with a routine of yoga, light meditation, and a proper breakfast to ensure that he can rock the party all night to the fullest of his ability and can go home at night with a smile on his face knowing that he truly gave the people all of his energy.

Rylan describes his DJ style as eclectic, energetic, and ethereal while describing his personal style with three words: comfort, quality, and unique.

When he’s not DJing with us or making music, Rylan loves connecting with nature and you can find him hiking or walking his dog.

Rylan is an Eagle Scout who exudes kindness, professionalism, and all around greatness that you won’t be able to deny, making him a dream to work with.

Atlanta Wedding & Event DJ – Angela from DJ Cuttlefish

The first time Angela heard “Bohemian Rhapsody” was the distinct moment in her life that pushed her into music. She has been singing since she was a tiny tot, making her own music since middle school, and has been a professional musician since 2010. Angela graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Music focusing on Composition and Technology. Immediately after earning her degree, she released her debut album and won the Griff Parrish Songwriting Award as well as an award for the original soundtrack she produced for an indie film. Since then, she’s been DJing with DJ Cuttlefish, running her own record label, and teaching private lessons in voice, guitar and piano.

Angela’s favorite part of DJing is connecting with awesome people. To her, reading the crowd and creating a vibe that gets everyone moving is the most amazing feeling in the world. When preparing for an event, she enjoys taking the time to research a client’s preferred genre of music and tailoring sets to match their needs and personal tastes.

Good music, good food, and good people are the ingredients to a good time for Angela. In her off time, she enjoys jamming with friends and hanging out in nature. If she won the lottery, she would throw a massive music festival to party with all her friends & fellow musicians.

Atlanta Wedding & Event DJ – Day from DJ Cuttlefish

Beginning in clubs and house parties, getting the dance floor going is Day’s specialty.

He’s been with DJ Cuttlefish from the very dawn of our creation and has performed at hundreds of weddings and events for us. He has built a name for himself with our team and is the top choice for many planners and venues across the city.

Before Day’s musical career, his introduction to the field began when he learned to play the guitar at age 15. He credits that experience with transforming his appreciation for music and he’s been rocketing to the top since then.

When preparing for an event, Day curates a set list specific to the event and then separates it into dance floor music and background music based on information. Rather than ordering them before the event, he reads the crowd and decides in the moment what songs get mixed into his set. Day’s ability to read crowds and please them is unparalleled.

Day knows people, he knows events, and he knows music – including all the technical stuff that typical people don’t understand. He understands music theory, digital audio workstations, and writes his own music in production programs.

On his off days, you can catch Day in vans and jeans exploring Atlanta nightlife.

Atlanta DJ – Lake Lanier Party Boat – DJ Cuttlefish

We’re on a boat, we’re on a boat. Everybody look at us cause we’re DJ-ing on a boat.

We DJ’ed on a party boat for Grace & Luke and it was super cool. Like, super.

They requested Parker from our team after seeing him perform at a private event a few months earlier.

Parker put together a mix of hip hop and rap for the boat party on Lake Lanier and the entire night was a hit.

An Easy Way to Share Your Must Plays With Us – DJ Cuttlefish

Hey there, lovely humans and party throwers!

We are often asked if we allow our clients to choose the music and the answer is yes, yes, and will always be yes. If you’re throwing a party for your grandma and her friends, you play what grandma and her friends like, right? It’s just the basics of knowing, understanding, and reading your crowd as a DJ, which is how we specialize in giving you and your guests the feels.

The next question after asking if you can choose your own music is usually “how do we share that with you?” Well, everything that we do is online so after you book online you get your own personalized portal into our system where you can view billing and legal, correspondence, and your questionnaire.

Your questionnaire has all kinds of questions like “what mood do you want the lighting to convey?” “should the music be censored?” “please copy and paste your schedule here” “please list your must play songs and the time you want them played” and all kinds of other questions so we can get to know you. The question about your must play songs is where you put what ya want and when ya want it. You can update this anytime and create a list of songs.

We really love our questionnaires and so do our clients, so we decided to take it a step farther and tell you an even more involved and easy way to create your wedding mix as you live your everyday life.

Say you’re at the gym with your headphones in listening to Spotify and a song that makes you wanna shake your groove thing comes on and you think “ohmy, this would be perfect for my reception!”. Just create a playlist on Spotify named “My Wedding” and add jams as you go.

When it comes time to fill out your questionnaire, simply get that playlist link and paste it in there. Our custom built Video DJ Facade is connected to Spotify through LTE and we can pull your songs directly from your playlist and incorporate them into the night smoothly.
