3 Slow Songs That Aren’t Overplayed at Weddings (If You Want Slow Songs)

Hello, Humans.

Some clients want their party to be bumpin – the music never slows down, the dance floor stays packed, and everyone is wild with energy from the upbeat music. We loooove those parties and can totally rock them. Some clients want to slow things down a bit, make it a little romantic, (we also love those parties) so we’re here with 3 slow songs that aren’t overplayed at weddings – ya know, if ya want some slow and sweet parts of the night. 😉

These aren’t your typical songs played, like ‘Wonderful Tonight’ by Eric Clapton or ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’ by Elvis Presley – though we LOVE those songs (seriously). These are songs for you modern clients looking for something you don’t really hear at every wedding.

Adore You by Miley Cyrus

Dude, admit it or not, you love this one by Miley.

She Keeps Me Warm by Mary Lambert

This song keeps our hearts warm. That’s all we gotta say. 🙂

Can’t Help Falling in Love With You by Ingrid Michealson

Okay,  I know we said this list wouldn’t have ‘Cant Help Falling In Love With You’ by Elvis Presley, and it doesn’t…technically. 😉 Don’t think that just cause this is for the modern client that you can’t take a classic song everyone knows then find a beautiful cover of it and still be considered the hipster of all your friends. In fact, we think it’s double points cause ya embrace the past with the present and future. Booyah. Cool kid on the block.

Stay tuned for our next blog post and email us at hello@djcuttlefish.com if you want us to write about something specific!

Spring Mix – Atlanta Wedding DJ – DJ Cuttlefish

Hi! Day recorded a part of his mix at a wedding this past Saturday (and totally killed it!) and we couldn’t not share it with you.

With hits like Work by Rihanna, Something About Us by Daft Punk, Roses by The Chainsmokers, a little bit of JB, and a lil’ Missy Elliot, this mix is going to end up your favorite spring jam.

It’ll “make ya hot like Las Vegas weather”. (we’re actually in Vegas today for a DJ Conference so we can continue to grow for all you wonderful clients.)

Give it a listen or two or three or a thousand. 😉

4 Songs For Your Bouquet Toss (Besides Single Ladies) – Atlanta Wedding + Event DJ – DJ Cuttlefish

Since Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyonce came out in 2008, it has blasted through every DJs speakers for the bouquet toss at 7/10 weddings performed across the nation. Don’t trust us on this statistic cause we just pulled it out of our butts. Seriously though, Single Ladies has taken over the Bouquet Toss and we’re here to share some alternatives with you. For you, alternative peeps.

We like Bouquet Toss Songs that scream GIRL POWER, you know, in bubble letters with flowers and all like you used to write in your 4th grade notebook. Cause, after all, the bouquet toss is THE part of your wedding that’s all about the girls. Have fun with this time!

Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper

This one is a bit cliche like Single Ladies but is more classic and SO fun to dance to. And seriously, it’s all about girls. Girls, girls, girls. You may even have an entire crowd of gals belting out the lyrics to this one. Is there a song that rings more true?

Love Is A Battlefield by Pat Benatar

We all know Love Is A Battlefield but just wait until your Bouquet Toss. You’ll see a battlefield then. (hahahahaha)

Run The World (Girls) by Beyonce

We had to sneak a Beyonce on in here. Who run this motha f’? GIRLS. We ain’t scared to run this back.

Bad Girls by MIA

Bring your bad girls out to this one. All about women empowerment, we admire this song not only for its bad assery, but also because the music video is a protest piece to the illegality of women driving in Saudi Arabia.

We’ll be back with more Bouquet Toss songs soon so keep up with our blog! TTYL!
