Q. What’s your current favorite song?

A. What If I Go? – Mura Masa. It’s super catchy and I love the way the music video was edited with stereoscopic GIFs. (Click here to view this music video.)

Q. What song do you think is most popular at events?

A. 24k Magic – Bruno Mars. This song really gets any party going. It’s become super popular. The music video already has over 400 million views.  (Click here to view this music video.)

Q. What is the wildest event you’ve DJed?

A. This is a really hard question to answer. I don’t think that I can decide what single event has been the wildest. But some of the wildest parties that I have DJed recently have been corporate parties. I think people that work hard play hard.

Q. What is your favorite part of DJing special events?

A. I love when guest are excited about dancing and having a great time. It feels good to see people enjoy my music selection. I enjoy the collective energy of a full dance floor.

DAY’S MOST RECENT REVIEWS:

I am extremely impressed and excited by the service we received and the level of professionalism and knowledge by Day. Day was incredibly easy to work with and express ideas to and knew exactly what we wanted. There was absolutely nothing left lacking and I would make this decision over and over again. Day was very talented at reading the crowd and what kind of music they needed/wanted and our guests had a great time. It was truly everything we needed and wanted.

Day was fantastic! He incorporated so many of our loved songs and kept our party moving with very little direction on our part. Everyone danced all night!

Lit the roof at my wedding! I told him I wanted an epic dance party for my wedding and that’s exactly what I got. He was very accommodating.”

Day was great. We wanted the music to flow with the emotions throughout our wedding day, and Day definitely delivered. He was really accommodating with our playlist and requests. He was super professional and did not require any hand holding or censoring. Class act through and through.

AMANDA’S MOST RECENT REVIEW:

DJ AMANDA!!! What can I say about her that other reviews have not. We had a super chaotic Cambodian/Vietnamese wedding. She did whatever needed for me not to worry!  She was positive, very professional and SUPER helpful. We asked for certain music for different parts of the reception and she did everything we asked for plus some. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. Anyone who needs a DJ or wants an awesome DJ, request Amanda!

That’s all we’ve got for ya… for now 😉

6 Tips For Choosing Your First Dance Song – DJ Cuttlefish

Hi there, peeps! We have had a few couples recently who requested help in choosing a first song and we’re here with some solid advice, 6 tips, to hopefully make the process easier for you.

  1. Ask yourself what kind of vibe you want to give off with the song. Your first dance as a married couple really sets the tone for your reception style since it’s usually one of the first things to happen on the timeline. Do you want to set a fun or romantic tone? (or both?)
  2. Think about length of the song. Most people don’t want to dance in front of their family and friends alone for more than 2 minutes, so think about the length of the song when considering. If you find a song you love that’s longer, don’t worry, we can cut it down. You can even tell us your favorite part of the song if you want so you know we’ll use that part.
  3. Is the rhythm easy to dance to? You should try dancing to it together before making a final decision.
  4. Pay attention to the lyrics. Don’t just listen – you should also Google the lyrics to read them. Are they all happy? Is there that one line that ruins it? We believe your first dance song should have nothing but happiness, though we guess the final choice is up to you. 🙂
  5. Do you have any songs that have been special at important times in your lives? Did you go to a concert for your first date? Was there a song you remember reminding you of your significant other when you first met?
  6.  Our final piece of advice if you’re lost is simply to listen to the radio a lot. Instead of listening passively, really really listen. If a song comes on that makes the hairs on your arm stand up with chills, that makes you think of your loved one, write it down.

Have any thing else you want us to cover? Email us now at Hello@DJCuttlefish.com and we just might blog about your topic. 😉

Until next time!
