Cordell’s aunt has been a music teacher his entire life and that familial influence helped him develop his musical career. He’s a music producer, engineer, and the current head of A&R for the National Collegiate Entertainers Group GSU Chapter.
With previous wedding and event DJ experience, he’s now found a home with the DJ Cuttlefish team.
Cordell is skilled and focuses on high-energy sets and reading the crowd. He’s comfortable blending multiple genres and creating moments that keep the dance floor engaged. He comes prepared, stays adaptable to the room, and takes pride in delivering a great experience every time he plays.
His favorite part of DJing events is creating a joyous vibe with music and the magical way in which that creates community. A successful party to Cordell is when people can’t help but have fun and be present. He loves fostering an environment where people’s heads are where their feet are – enjoying the present moment in totality.
When preparing for an event, Cordell connects with the client and gets a clear understanding of their vision for the event, then tailors his at-home practice towards their wishes leading up to the event.
He describes his DJ style as concise, smooth, adaptive and his personal style as clean, vibrant, and authentic.
In his spare time, you can find Cordell producing music and practicing his musical crafts just for fun and playing basketball and football with family and friends.
Cordell loves discovering new music both professionally and in his personal time. If he’s DJing for personal pleasure, you can catch him listening to Rap, R&B, Dembow, House, and Alt Rock. His go to dance move is the 2 step and he’d love to do it with you at your event.
If you have cheesecake, you can find Cordell in line to get a slice (or two)!
Cordell is knowledgeable, kind, has a joyous demeanor about him that’s contagious, and you’ll love having him as your DJ. ☆
