Awgo’s relationship with music began in his youth when he found kinship with his 7th grade best friend who also liked playing guitar – they’d make covers at her home after school. His musical and artistic journey continued to an internship at the same music studio that “Bags” by Clairo was created.
With a marketing, music, and film background, Awgo has now found a home with the DJ Cuttlefish team where he DJs weddings and events in Atlanta.
Awgo is well versed in music from all different genres, decades, and cultures, and is always down to discover what else is out there. He is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish, and self proclaims himself as “The Emo Latino”.
Awgo’s favorite part of DJing is seeing happy faces. Getting to witness so many special and intimate moments at events and creating the vibe fills his heart. He is not afraid to be himself and that innate ability to be authentic will bring out the same in you and your guests. He effortlessly curates an environment that is welcoming, kind, and free – the exact thing every dancefloor should be.
Awgo knows the formula to any successful party begins with a good playlist. When preparing to DJ, Awgo spends time getting to know and understanding his clients, their likes and desires, then begins each event day with meditation.
His go to dance move? Moving his hips. His favorite dessert? Cheesecake. A successful party to Awgo has tons of both.
Awgo describes his DJ style as ecstatic, unforgettable, and energetic, while describing his personal style as eccentric, balanced, and fun.
In addition to DJing, Awgo is also a lyricist, guitarist, and composer of his own music. You can catch him in the studio in his spare time and if he’s not there, you’ll find him participating in one of his many hobbies: photography, painting, acting, hiking, playing soccer, swimming, and finding any new way to express himself artistically. If he won the lottery, he would donate a chunk of it to charity and buy a farm near the beach for his family with the rest. Awgo lives a full and happy life, making him a dream to work with.
Awgo’s music palette is diverse and while he loves indulging in music from all different genres, rock, pop, alternative folk, classical, and hyperpop hold a special spot in his personal style followed any new genre he can learn about.
